The SAA committee consists of representatives of members clubs and the four delegates to the Council of the Swiss Abroad (CSA). The delegates are elected to represent the Swiss Community in Australia and other nations in Oceania at the Council – the ‘Parliament of the Swiss Abroad’.

The Council is the governing body of SwissCommunity, the Organisation of the Swiss Abroad (OSA).

“The mission of the CSA delegates is to represent the Swiss Community in Australia, and to support and defend their interests as Swiss citizens living abroad.”

At present, around 26,100 registered Swiss live in Australia. Around 150 registered Swiss reside in Papua New Guinea and on the Pacific island nations of Kiribati, Nauru, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

Reports of the Meetings of the Council of the Swiss Abroad

The Council of the Swiss Abroad meets twice a year to discuss current topics and decide on important matters. The spring meeting traditionally takes place in March in Bern. The autumn meeting is held in August within the framework of the annual Congress of the Swiss Abroad which always takes place in a different location in Switzerland.

Lately, however, meetings also held virtually. Click here for the official minutes (in German and French) and video recordings of each meeting.

Summaries of the meetings in English, as written by the CSA delegates, can be found here:
